I have been working on a new section for this website about mold. Some mold is useful, for example blue cheese would be neither blue nor tasty without the right kind of mold. Other types of mold are toxic, and should be avoided by everyone. The worst kinds of molds are carcinogenic, for example, some varieties that commonly grow on peanuts, and other types that commonly grow on damp wood.
Understanding mold, where it grows, and which types are especially harmful is useful information for everyone.
If you are allergic to mold, you have one more reason to eliminate molds from your environment. In a way you are lucky, because your allergies make you more aware of molds, so you are less likely to be exposed to toxic mold.
Either way, you will want to know how to detect mold and how to eliminate it. The new section will explain all of this as it expands.
