You might try avoiding any food from the nightshade family, including tomatoes, egg plant, potatoes and bell peppers. These tend to cause inflammation in joints if you have arthritis.

I have RA – type symptoms but test negative for RA. First thing in the morning the soles of my feet are stiff and sore making walking difficult. On top of that the back of my head where it meets the neck is stiff and my hands are stiff with swollen knuckles. Recently my knees have become very painful when bending to sit or rise from a chair and the kneecaps occasionally dislocate. They feel brittle and as though my kneecaps are about to pop off. As well as all this I have occasional hip pain and pain in my forearms and upper arms if I have been lifting anything the previous day. I have been diagnosed with hyper-mobile joints and after the birth of my twins 2 years ago I have only had 4 or 5 hours straight sleep. Not sure if severe tiredness is anything to do with it? Any help or advice would be welcome. Currently trying a gluten free diet but not feeling any benefits yet after 3 weeks.

Many Thanks – Frances

My doctor feels that a feces test (from a good lab) is very good for celiac disease.

Celiac is very different from wheat allergy and much more serious. You should definitely be tested for celiac if wheat or gluten allergy seem possible.

I brought the question to his attention because he does admit that not all skin/blood tests for allergies are 100% correct and it’s more of a looking at all the facts with the tests. My wheat test was negative. Is the test for celiac different? Can one be tested for gluten itself?

See a dermatologist

That sounds really nasty, Starlyn.

Skin problems are very tricky to diagnose.

Please see a dermatologist to get this sorted out.

You might start with your GP for a referral.

it’s not chicken pox or measles, they are not itchy, they don’t hurt and they are all different sizes..very tiny (like if you were to dot your skin with a pen) to the size of an eraser on a pencil.

They are round and slightly raised and flaky…it’s like dry red spots and they are everywhere!..my neck, face, shoulders, back, chest, stomach, legs and this morning I noticed a small one on my lip!

Is this some sort of dry skin like excema? but isn’t excema in patches? mine are just dry red spots and they are very ugly!

Please help!? I’ve never had anything like this before and I want them to go away!!

Hi:

Same was happening to me starting about 3 months ago. I went to my doctor she told me about Celiac because of the allergic reaction to everything I was eating plus the bloating, gas, extended stomach, nausea and constipation, sudden weight loss, etc. I know I am allergic to wheat but no doctor ever told me the consecuences behind consuming constantly wheat . I made lots of research and I healed my allergies by restoring my intestinal flora with Florastor (buy it at any pharmacy without prescription), Florajen 3 (buy it in health food stores and the most important probiotic you should take), Rejuvelac, eating raw, small meals, no animal products or oils besides olive oil, unrifined apple cider vinegar, whole grains (totally excluding wheat, rye, barley, oats and the whole gluten family). Wheat causes a lot of damage to the digestive system. Celiac disease is not the only disease caused by the wheat. Wheat allergies and intolerance destroy the digestive system by destroying the healthy flora. When the healthy flora is compromised you will be allergic to everything you eat. Conclusion: Stay away from wheat, restore the digestive flora with Florastor and Florajen 3, eat healthy, make your own meals, don’t eat out since everything is contaminated with wheat even OTC supplements and prescribed medication. Also avoid using antibiotics or antihistamine. Florastor and Florajen will do it without distroying your intestinal health. Good luck and God bless you. Go to the link below. The information is very helpful.

In Chinese food… it could be a lot of things. Seafood contamination, onions, soy (soy sauce), msg (yeast), sesame oil. Some people put peas in their fried rice. My wife recently learned she is alergic to peas.

About a month ago I ate some chinese food and with in an hour I broke into hives. A week later I had some chicken w/mushrooms and broke into hives all over again. Two weeks later I ate some cashew nuts and broke into hives AGAIN! Why does it seem that all of a sudden I seem to be allergic to everything? I went to see the doctor when I first broke into hives. I had some lab work done. They said it shows that I have alot of allergens in my body. Now I’m going to a specialist. It seems that ever since I ate the chinese food my body breaks into hives alot. Is it possible that the chinese food triggered my allergies? I have no idea what I was allergic too in the chinese food.
