Irritable Bowel Syndrome<\/h2>\n

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS, or spastic colon) is a \u2018functional bowel disorder\u2019, meaning \u201cwe can describe the disease but we don\u2019t know what\u2019s causing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course something causes it, but built right into the definition is the idea that there is no known cause, so it isn\u2019t to surprising that when there might be a known cause, it is often overlooked.  More about that later.<\/p>\n
