Butler’s Pantry does have some gluten free options, but it is not the best choice if you have a gluten allergy unfortunately.<\/p>\n

It is a funky, relaxed restaurant and tea house on Roncesvalles Ave. in Toronto.\u00a0 It is a nice place to hang out. The mismatched furniture and large array of different tea pots adds charm to the place.\u00a0 If you’re in a casual mood, you would probably want to eat here if you’re in the area.<\/p>\n

But when it comes to gluten-free food, they fall short.\u00a0 The mousaca was a disappointment, because while some recipes call for flour, others do not.\u00a0 There is no reason to ruin a perfectly good gluten-free dish by adding flour to it.\u00a0 Such needless glutenizing of what could be a safe choice for those with a gluten allergy is very frustrating.<\/p>\n

There are few other choices, as most of what’s on the minimal menu contain gluten.<\/p>\n

The good news is that the baba ghanoush is excellent (order it without pita bread).\u00a0 The one gluten free option that I was able to find when I ate there was Bul go gi, a stire fry made with Korean marinated beef.\u00a0 It was a little on the sweet side for my taste, but never the less very good.<\/p>\n

The Butler’s Pantry has good food at a reasonable price and in a relaxed atmosphere, but it is not very suitable for a gluten free diet.\u00a0 But there are some options so you don’t need to avoid it completely.<\/p>\n
