Alternaria<\/strong> is a genus of molds<\/a>. They grow easily indoors, causing indoor air quality<\/strong> problems. They can trigger hay fever<\/strong>, which can lead to asthma<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There are at least 44 known species, although there may be hundreds more yet to be classified.<\/p>\n

Alternaria can cause a great number of health problems, including allergies<\/a>, growth in mucous membranes (e.g. eyes, respiratory tract etc.).<\/p>\n

Many species produce toxins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

People often develop allergies<\/a> to molds of this genus.<\/p>\n
