It depends very much what you are allergic to, for example milk, rice, curry, pulses, certain fruits …. almost any kind of food could cause an allergy, every one is different. If you think you are reacting to your food, you can try cutting out most of what you eat and change for different kinds of foods and see if you feel better. I know this is hard to do.
what countries consider buckwheat an allergen?
I find this a rather odd question.
It has nothing to do with country and everything to do with each individual body.

Hi! I am in Nepal now and having real difficulty with my gluten allergy and dairy intolerance. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am also going to be traveling to India, and saw the section on that which was very helpful. Thanks!
I’ve not been to Nepal so I can’t help you but I hope someone else can.
What is the staple food in Nepal? What have you found that you can eat so far? Anything you think you might be able to eat but are unsure about?
Nepal isn’t a problem. I’m coeliac and if you dhal bhat, their staple food which is basically, rice, lentils and veggies is both healthy and safe for you.

I will be traveling to India and Bangladesh in 1 month.
I have a confirmed food allergy to Mangos. I carry 2 epipens, benedryl and prenisone with me at all times.
Are there any specific food dishes that I need to avoid while in India and Bangladesh?

I’ve been to India 4 times but am afraid I can’t help you re Bangladesh. As far as I know, mango is very little used in Indian cuisine…. I doubt you’ll have any problems….

I am traveling to Malaysia ( and surrounding small islands) for 3 weeks and will be staying at small beach chalets. I am allergic to seafood and shellfish. Any recommendations on what I should eat ?!?( i.e. Names of dishes..ect.. ) Obviously, I am concerned on how to convey this to locals. Any help would be greatly appreciated !! Thank you so much !!! ๐

make sure to see my above comment…. another thing I’d like to add is that they sell unflavored dried fruit chips which are AMAZING and gluten free since they are just freeze dried fruit. the mango ones are my favorite. MMM I miss Thailand. have lots of fun for me please ๐ Do some muay thai or at least go to a few fights, completely worth the money and GREAT cultural experience
