The situation has become untenable of late. I am going to have to involve my union to see whether my right to breathe is covered by the collective agreement. I will keep you posted.

I’m not an expert on that but it does sound interesting.
My first thought is that you try to get help from your union. Also, the Ontario and Federal Government have some sort of general help phone numbers, you could call and find out who you should talk to.
Please do share any information you discover!
I’m not aware of one, but if you find one or found one, let me know and I’ll post an article about it.

It may release the chemicals over time and be OK for you, in which case you’d have to store it somewhere to off-gas. Hardly convenient, although if the problem is coming from the coating, it may not take all that long to off-gas.
It may be possible to have it coated with some sort of finishing inside and out, that seals the chemicals in. This has the danger of slow off-gassing that you won’t really notice, but may still affect your health.
If you find a better solution, it would be great if you could come back and leave a post about it.
Good luck with it
]]>I just installed a new vanity. I had it made so that it wouldn’t have particle board which I specified when requesting it. I have chemical sensitivities and rarely buy something new. The vanity has particle board, perhaps it’s the stain on the wood too, and definitely gives off a strong odour. What can I do to resolve this problem?
Thanks, Brenda
